AMHERST – Only one year after retiring from the Nova Scotia Intermediate Baseball League, Jeff Hoeg has been inducted into the NSIBL Hall of Fame.

Hoeg entered the league in 1995, playing most of his career for the Maccan Royals, and played with the Dooly’s Coors Light Silver Bullets after the Royals folded in 2006.

“I always enjoyed playing intermediate ball,” Hoeg said. “It becomes part of your life and it’s a departure from everyday life. When you’re out on the field it almost feels like you’re a kid for those few hours you’re playing.”

Hoeg won three Atlantic Championships with Maccan, in 1996, 1999 and 2004, and one with Amherst, in 2002. He also won numerous provincial championships over the years.

“I’ve been fortunate to meet a lot of great people, players, coaches and leaders throughout the years,” Hoeg said. “I’ve played on a lot of great teams. Great teammates make a good ball player.”
