HARMONY - The Springhill Eagles captured the silver medal at the Division 3 provincial slo-pitch championships here over the weekend.
The Eagles lost a close 6-5 game to Bridgetown in the finals on Saturday, capping off a successful season for the Cumberland County team.
Springhill went in to Saturday 1-1 after beating Cape Breton Highlands and losing to their county rivals from Parrsboro on Friday. They defeated New Germany on Saturday and made it to the finals with a win over defending champions Inverness in the semi-final.
Coach Lloyd Taggart credited the impressive finish to strong play from everyone, including graduating seniors Kevin Hunter, Brad Chambers and Lucas Brown.
