Blues go up 2-0 on Scotians

TRENTON – The Cumberland County Blues are ahead 2-0 in their best-of-seven Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League quarterfinal series with a 5-2 victory over the Pictou County Scotians on Sunday night.

Seth Crowe, with two, Cody Roach, Jordie Shaw and Zach Carson scored for Cumberland, which led 1-0 and 3-1 at the intermissions. Andrew Court was the winning goaltender. Cumberland outshot Pictou 39-28.

Blues forward Geoff Burke sat out with a slight concussion suffered in Game 1, but should be ready to return when Game 3 goes Friday night at Richard Calder Arena in Springhill.
