Feb. 12
Curling Fun Night
A curling fun night in memory of Tim LeFurgey will be held at the Amherst Curling Club from 6 p.m.-midnight. Proceeds to the palliative care unit at Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre. Call 669-1585.
Variety Show
The Cumberland Singers present a
musical variety show for Haitian relief at 7:30 p.m., at the Wentworth Recreation Centre.
Pancake Supper
A pancake supper will be held at Christ Church parish hall from 4:30-6:30 p.m.
Pot Luck Supper and Cards
A pot luck supper followed by an evening of cards will be held at the
Sunrise Senior Citizens Hall in Lower Shinimicas at 6 p.m. Bring your own dishes and favourite foods.
Bottle Drive
The Cumberland Kent Ramblers novice hockey team will hold a bottle drive beginning at 5 p.m., in the Amherst area. Contact Deirdre Kelba at 661-0259 to ensure pickup.
Feb. 13
An afternoon of English High Tea by Cumberland Pride will be held from 2-4 p.m., at Trinity-St. Stephen's United Church. Call Lisa Hill at 660-5143 or e-mail
The Nova Scotia Highlanders (IV) Association will meet at 7:30 p.m., at the Amherst Armoury.
Valentine's Day With Dad
Kids ages six and younger and their male caregivers can enjoy a morning of fun from 10 a.m.-noon at Maggie's Place. Call 667-7250 to register.
A fundraiser for VON Cumberland's charitable programs will be held at the Amherst Lions Den from 9 p.m.-1 a.m.
Mixed Darts Tournament
A mixed darts tournament will be held at the RCAF Association 105 Cumberland Wing at 10 a.m. Call 667-9262.
The Knights of Columbus will serve breakfast from 8-11 a.m., at the community centre on 5 Robie St., Amherst.
Trinity St. Stephen's United Church will serve supper at 5 p.m. Silent auction to follow.
Feb. 14
Valentine Supper
The Advocate and District Fire Department will hold a Valentine supper from 4:30-6 p.m., at the fire hall.
Auction 45s will be held at the Amherst 50+ Club, 52 Croft St., at 1:30 p.m. Registration at 1 p.m. Please bring a partner.
Hymn Sing
An old-fashioned hymn sing will be held at Springhill Baptist Church at 7 p.m. Free will offering for Haiti relief fund.
Musical Afternoon
A musical afternoon will be held at the Sunrise Senior Citizens Hall in Lower Shinimicas from 1-5 p.m.
Feb. 15
Cumberland Pride, an organization for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and transsexual people in Cumberland County, will meet from 6:30-8:30 p.m. E-mail or call 660-5004.
Cumberland County Riders ATV Club will meet at 7 p.m., at Brookdale Church Hall.
First Baptist Church men's group will meet at 7 p.m. Guest speaker is cancer navigator Holly Chapman. All welcome.
