To the editor,
The installation of the standards and L.E.D. light fixtures at Dickey Park are near completion.
Personally I can hardly wait for the first evening that the fixtures are turned on. Many use the track during the day light hours; Many more will now be able to use the track during the evening hours as well.
A suggestion: Install solar panels on the light standards and utilize the green energy to power the L.E.D. fixtures.
Rediscovering Dickey Park grants us all the opportunity to producing clean energy and making a green statement. It would be wise to use green energy on the new structure that will house the washrooms/storage/office. Utilizing green energy at this park will bring about national notoriety and encourage fellow Canadians to follow the lead.
