"Own the Podium."There was something about that slogan for the Vancouver Olympics that we liked. Some saw it as cocky and "un-Canadian" in its brashness, but it was simply a statement of confidence in our athletes and our programs, setting a goal to not only be good hosts of the Olympics but to come out on top with the medal count.

It is not any different than saying Striving For Gold There are those who wrote in the McGill Tribune that the opening cermonies were too sterotype. I think it showed a new revival of Canadian Patriotism, there was joy, pride and respect for everyone, and our great country CANADA.
There are those who complained about everything and just sat at home sipping on their cheap wine while we screamed from coast to coast with with pride, GO CANADA. GO
