Spring? Bring it on
Greetings readers, hope you all had a lovely week. Has anyone else found this past week a bit more treacherous for getting around? The ice has been downright slippery. Sure we've all had to contend with the crusty stuff for about the past month or so: in our driveways, along the roads, and just about anywhere one has to walk. But this last coating seems to be especially: super slippery. I think over the course of three days, I have had nearly thirty near-misses of crashing to the ground because of this stuff. Our driveway has been sanded and re-sanded at least half a dozen times in the last two weeks and yet, Saturday I was doing the flying-flamingo trying to get into my car. My feet slid out from under me and since I didn't really want to slide under the opened door or the car, or crack the back of my head open like a coconut, I held onto the steering with a death-grip, one-handed, while the other arm was flapping like a wing, in a futile attempt to gain some balance. Luckily, the death-grip worked, and there was no rump bruising or cracked skull for me that night.
Another thing to watch out for are the deer. I know of several unfortunate folks who have had a run-in with them, over the past couple of weeks. Always remember, where there is one, there are likely at least, two more right behind.
Have a great week everyone and drive and walk, safely.
