Furnace installed at community hall
Diligent River -
Let's start by saying a big thank-you to everyone who worked so hard to install the new furnace at the Baptist Church. A special thanks goes to Kerwin Davidson, who did the final hookup. Kerwin made two trips to Diligent River before he could find someone to open the church. Everyone who attends service is grateful for the warm church. Our next service will be Dec. 6 at 1 p.m., as we will be going to Springhill with the Living Christmas tree for practice.
Tickets are available on the church quilt. The quilt is a one-of-a-kind and will never be repeated in pattern as this.
The Christmas party and dinner in the FPW Hall has been well filled up. It is through the generosity of Gordie Coates and the hard work of Gayle, Sharon and the others that this has come about.
Christine Gould of Amherst visited with Rubie Yorke during the week. They haven't see one another in ages and it was a special treat for them to talk of old times.
Our great-grandson Grayson will be two years old Monday, Nov. 30...the most beautiful child on God's green earth.
Once again to remind everyone there will be a brunch at the Tatamagouche Rink on Saturday, Nov. 28, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., including eggs, bacon, hash browns, etc. Proceeds are for the North Shore Storm Junior C hockey team. Come out and support a good cause.
Sharon and Larry Orr returned form a 13-day trip to Orlando where they had the pleasure to see the space shuttle Atlantis take off from the Kennedy Space center to the International Space Station. The Atlantis is only making six more trips, so they were fortunate their timing for this trip coincided with the successful take-off of the shuttle. While in Florida, they also visited with Laureen and Larry Hutt. Sharon and Laureen were high-school friends that hadn't seen each other for 36 years. They got in touch through Facebook and arranged to meet up at the Hutt's winter home in Zephryhills.
Kayla Orr made a brief visit from St. FX to see her parents Larry and Sharon over the weekend. Kayla will receive her long awaited "X" ring at ceremonies on Dec. 3, and will graduate later in the spring of 2010.
