Seems Bill has had his visit and gone without doing as much damage as expected. The weather will be cooler now and for that we can all be thankful.

A week ago on Sunday several from this area attended a birthday celebrations in Oxford, one for Doris Marshall at the Meadow Vista and the other one for Hilda Hollis held at the Lions Center. Both ladies have reached the age of 90. Congratulations to all celebrating this month.
In evening Angela, Dexter Penny and girls Sara and Katylin, Antigonish came to visit Elda Lowther at the home of Vivian and John Warwick's.
Eleanor Jackson and Terry returned to Edmonton on Tuesday. When they arrived home they phoned back to say the temperature out there was just 11 Celsius. Some different than when she left Nova Scotia.
Carla and Mike McMullen and boys Robbie and Matthew visited with Elda on Tuesday. They left for Fort St. John on Wednesday.
Ethel Embree , Springhill visited with Wallace Hollis recently.
On Wednesday, Darlene Blackadar, Bridgewater, Beatrice DesRoche, Brookdale visited with Elda Lowther.
Mabel Lowther, Oxford is a regular visitor bringing fresh vegetables from their garden.
Helen Estabrooks came on Thursday and brought pretty gladiolus from her flower garden.
Mary Ellen Lusby, Amherst visited with her mother, Elda on Wednesday evening while Vivian and John Warwick spent the evening with his mother Ruth Warwick in Truro.
On Thursday Gordon and Hilda Hunsley, Salmon Arms, British Columbia came to visit Elda. They are in the area to attend the wedding of his granddaughter , Sonya Gilroy and Aaron Cudmore.
Also here for this wedding is Sonya's grandmother, Jennie Bowser of British Columbia.
The wedding was held on Saturday at the Nazarene Church, Oxford, with reception at the Lions Center. Congratulations to the happy couple. They will reside in Hartland, New Brunswick.
Church service was cancelled on Sunday due to the arrival of hurricane Bill.
Douglas and Ruby Kirkpatrick, Victor and Heather Hunsley enjoyed dining at the Sandpiper Restaurant on Saturday, the occasion being Heather's birthday.
Recent visitors with Olive Jackson were John Cudmore and Kris, Ontario. Shawn Cudmore and family Ontario came on Monday to visit with Olive. Jeremy and Susan Jackson, Kyle and Halie of Red Deer, Alberta visited on Thursday evening.
Heidi and Lee Bird, Halifax, visited on Friday with her grandparents Delbert and Lillian Carter. David and Nancy Taylor, Truro their son and daughter and family visited with her parents Delbert and Lillian Carter on Saturday. The three men helped Delbert put in their winter's wood. A delicious dinner with eleven present was enjoyed.
Darrell and Sheila Thompson visited with Brian and Laura Jean Thompson, Little River recently. Sorry to hear that Brian had misfortune to fall and badly sprain his ankle. Guess you don't have to be old to fall.
Dorothy Bowser was one of the Pythians from this area attending the Grand Temple and Grand Lodge meetings in Fredericton this weekend.
The Travelers entertained at Gables and Centennial on Monday afternoon.
