Hi again from Downtown New Salem. I hope you've all had a wonderful week.
Marg Harper of Kitchener/Waterloo, Ont. is visiting with Gwen Spicer. They have been friends for 66 years.
Lela Field of Parrsboro and her daughter, Donna Dunbar of Halifax, are spending some time at their home here. Lela's other daughter, Brenda, and her husband Bud MacDonald of Vancouver, B.C. arrived here on Friday to spend the summer at their home here.
Susan Wakefield and Nigel Field of Halifax are spending the summer at their home here.
Fun soccer will begin at the Advocate school on Thursday, July 9 at 6:30 p.m.
On Friday, July 10 we will be doing pet rocks at the Advocate library on Mills Road from 2-3 p.m. Please call 392-2214 to register.
On Wednesday, July 15 the Advocate library will be having a family movie night on the big screen, upstairs at the log building beginning at 7 p.m. The movie will be The Tale of Despereaux. The kids can bring a pillow to sit on, on the floor if they so wish to. There is no cost. There will be popcorn and juice. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Do you want an awesome breakfast? Judy Allen is cooking breakfast seven days a week from 8-11 a.m. at the Beach Cafe in Spencer's Island.
A beautiful hand-braided wool rug has been generously donated to the A.D.D.A. and we are selling tickets on this. The tickets are $1 or three for $2 and you can contact Donnie Fletcher, myself or any member of the A.D.D.A. for tickets.
The next community luncheon will be held at the log building on July 14 at noon.
