A.D.D.A. dinner theatre, meal enjoyed by audience

New Salem -

Hi again from Downtown New Salem. I hope you all had a wonderful week.

Margie and Lindsay Kernohan of Hilden visited with their daughter, Lauralee Spicer, and family on the weekend.
Ellen and Floyd Johnston went to Halifax for the weekend to visit their daughter, Shelly, and also to watch her participate and finish in the Bluenose 10K Marathon. Congratulations to you, Shelly!
On Saturday, Lela Field of Parrsboro and her daughter, Donna Dunbar of Waverley, were supper guests of Alt Fletcher and Darrell Davis.
On Saturday the A.D.D.A. held a dinner theatre at the log building. It was a wonderful play with an awesome meal that was enjoyed by all. The A.D.D.A. wishes to say a special thank you to Dorothy Ross for planning it, to everyone that donated and helped and the community for supporting it.
On Saturday the Fundy Tides Restaurant on Mills Road opened for the season. For now, the hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. They now have a deck with outside seating so that you can enjoy the view while you enjoy your meal. It's awesome!
On Saturday morning, May 23, a bottle drive will be held by the students of Advocate school.
On Saturday, May 23, the Downshore Market and Coffee House is starting back at the log building on Mills Road from 9 a.m. to noon. This year there are some new vendors. Come and enjoy a social morning with new and old friends.
The next A.D.D.A. meeting will be held on May 27 at 7 p.m. at the log building.
On Sunday, May 31 a casserole supper will be held at the Advocate Fire Hall from 4:30 to 6 p.m. The proceeds are for The Relay for Life.
The next community luncheon will be held at the log building on Tuesday, June 9 at noon.
On Tuesday afternoons from 1 to 3:30 p.m., quilting and crafting are being held at Murphy's Store. Everyone is welcome.
An exercise area is now available at the log building on Mills Road. There is a universal weight machine and two treadmills available. The cost is $1 a visit. The hours for now are the same as the library, Tuesday 2-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., Wednesday to Friday 10 a.m. to noon and 1 - 4 p.m., Saturday, Sunday and Monday closed. Call 392-2214 for availability.
On Sunday, May 31, church will be held at the New Salem Union Church at 11a.m.
