Pancake supper this weekend

New Salem -

Hi again from downtown New Salem, I hope you've all had a wonderful week. I was just getting used to the idea that spring might actually be on its way and, what happens? We get another snowstorm. Unbelievable!

Last week, Ethel Slocum of Masstown visited with her daughter Ellen Johnston and her husband Floyd for a few days. She also attended the 72nd anniversary party for Ethel and Earl Clarke.
Stanley Johnston of Truro spent March break visiting with his parents Ellen and Floyd Johnston.
Dawn Crawford of Truro spent the weekend visiting with her parents Ina and Doug Spicer.
On Saturday, Arden and Hilda Fletcher, Dara Stronge, Bud Collins, Duncan and Louise Spicer, Donnie Fletcher and I attended the pancake breakfast in Joggins. It was an awesome breakfast!
Donnie Fletcher and I wish to thank everyone who purchased the Lucky Duck tickets. We are sold out and wish you all good luck on the draw!
On Saturday, March 28 the annual firemen's pancake supper will be held at the fire hall from 4:30 to 6 p.m.
On Tuesday, March 31, Prize Bingo will be held at the Advocate school at 7 p.m.
Advocate United Church will be having Sunday service at 2 p.m. on April 5 and 19.
On Saturday, April 11 the Advocate firefighters will be hosting a breakfast at the fire hall from 8 a.m. to noon.
On Saturday, April 11 there will be a spring fling held at the Advocate school. I will give more details soon.
On Tuesday, April 14 the next community luncheon will be held at the log building at noon.
On Tuesday afternoons from 1 to 3:30 p.m., quilting and crafting are being held at Murphy's Store. Everyone is welcome.
The Advocate Fire Department Bingo is held every second Friday and they have put their regular games up to $20. Come on out for an evening of fun and support the fire department. Bingo will be Friday, March 20, Friday, April 3, Friday, April 17, Friday, May 1, Friday, May 8, and Friday, May 15.
Don't forget to come out for coffee mornings at the old Murphy Store on Saturday mornings from 9 a.m. to noon. It is a morning of socializing and relaxing away from the everyday busy schedules.
