Firemen holding dinner

New Salem - Hi again from Downtown New Salem, I hope youve all had a wonderful week. Well, between the snow and the ice, it sure will be nice to see it all gone.

Id like to send get well wishes to Lela Field, who was recently in the hospital in Halifax but is out and on the mend at her daughter Donna Dunbars. Her other daughter, Brenda MacDonald of Vancouver, B.C., was also at her sister Donnas for 10 days to be with her mom.

Id like to say congratulations to Megan, Robert and Shelby Nuttall on the birth of their son.

On Saturday, Feb. 14 the firemen will be holding a roast beef dinner at the fire hall from 4:30 to 6 p.m. The cost will be $10. Bring your sweetie for a Valentines supper. Proceeds are for the new sub-station in Apple River. This will house a fire truck for a quicker response in Apple River and New Salem.

On Tuesday afternoons from 1 to 3:30 p.m., quilting and crafting is being held at Murphys Store.

Organizations: Murphys Store

Geographic location: New Salem, Apple River, Halifax Vancouver, B.C.
