SDCDA set to make

Port Greville - Hello everyone! Well, another month has gone by and Mother Nature has changed our world to the glorious colors of fall. So far, we have been most fortunate to escape the full fury of recent storms to our area. However, enough with the rain already.

First of all, I would like to send condolences to George Wheaton and his family on the passing of his mother, Lyda Barteaux, who was an extremely well-respected long-time resident of Fox River. She will be missed by all.

Terry and Gayle Shaw have returned from a trip to Vancouver, B.C., where they attended the wedding of their youngest son, Travis, to Liza Simon. Two days after their return they received word from their oldest grandson, Ryan, that he has been accepted into the RCMP, starting mid-October. Terry and Gayle are thrilled and proud of Ryan, who has also just completed a two-year criminology program at Douglas College in Vancouver.

Members of the Shore Drive Community Development Association are reminded of their meeting on Oct. 24 at the FPW Fire Hall. This month the meeting will start with a potluck supper starting at 5:30 p.m. and the meeting will begin at 7 p.m. Everyone is encouraged to attend, as there are many fall projects on the agenda and also some exciting news will be announced. All current members and potential members are welcome to attend.

The card parties will be starting Saturday, Oct. 25 at the FPW Fire Hall in Port Greville. This year they will start with a potluck supper at 5:50 p.m. and cards will begin at 7 p.m., and everyone is welcome.

Well, that seems to be it for this week folks, have a good one.
