Roll call service held for Maccan, River Hebert
The congregations of the River Hebert and Maccan Baptist Churches gathered in the River Hebert church for their roll call service on the afternoon of May 18. Pastor Phil Scott led the service, Honey Jackson was organist, and the guest speaker on this Mission Sunday was Rev. Shant Manuel of Far Corners Ministries.
Following the usual opening of the service, the praise hymn To God Be The Glory, was sung by the choir and congregation. The invocation prayer, welcome, and announcements were given by Pastor Scott. The choir special was entitled When the Roll is Called in Glory. Sandra Strang, church clerk for Maccan, called their roll with responses given in a scripture message. The congregation sang When the Roll is Called Up Yonder, then Fred Jackson, church clerk for River Hebert church called their roll with responses in a scripture text. The tithes and offerings were received, responded by the doxology and a second choir selection was enjoyed.
As the choir returned to the congregation, a time of greet thy neighbour took place as the congregation circulated and greeted one another. Following the singing of Footsteps of Jesus, Pastor Scott introduced the guest speaker. Rev. Manuel brought a challenging message on Mission and the importance of Mission work. He spoke of his interest in Far Corners Ministries. Rev. Manuel desires to have a fund for training Christians of India to be messengers, ministers for the Lord to their people.

Fred Jackson presented her with an honourarium plaque containing a picture of her church, on behalf of their congregation. Anne Dowe presented Jessie with a bouquet of roses and babys breath on their behalf also.
