SPRINGHILL On March 15, two old friends celebrated their birthdays each with their family and friends.
Arnold Huck Chisholm with wife Marion, grandson Kevin and wife Susie and their son Carson from Shearwater, N.S., and friends enjoyed dinner out. Kevin and family visited for the second time since he had returned from serving overseas on his third tour, this time in Afghanistan. Arnold and Marion had calls from all their sons, Bob and Linda, Dave and Mary in Ontario and also Bill in New York and Peter and Eva Brody in Florida.
Al Bib Breau celebrated at home, enjoying a family supper and cake with his wife and daughters Philomene (Mike) OConnor, Meredith MacLeod, an Mary Ann Megeney. Al thanks all for gifts, cards, and calls that came from daughter Marilyn (Larry) Brander, U.S.A.; the Megeney grandchildren Jason, Alberta; Jesse, British Columbia; Jennifer, Saint John, and sister Anne Stewart of Truro. For those who have inquired about Als sister Yvonne Merritte, formerly of Springhill, she now resides in Saint John, N.B.
It was a big thank you to over 100 person who attended the delicious boiled dinner dessert from Springhill Knights of Columbus Council 4302. It was their pleasure to donate $600 to the Christian Child Care International to assist in the fine work they do in aiding children and aging persons in developing countries.
