BROOKDALE Greetings from Brookdale.
We continue to have snowy and sunny days. This morning it is -16.3. Thankfully we didnt get as much snow yesterday as Yarmouth. My nephew in Owen Sound emailed a few pictures of the snowstorm that they had last week and was just like the stories about the good old days.

Our editor, Jean Smith, for the Chignecto Presbyterial newsletter Now Events We Share, is in the process of doing the Spring issue. The United Church Women are celebrating 45 years this year so Jean would like to have stories or notes from those who remember when The Ladies Aid and The Womens Missionary Society joined together to become the United Church Women.
She has set a deadline for March 1 so please send out your memories, good, bad or funny. I was a member of the WMS at Fifty United Church in Winona. I loved that church and its people and we had over 100 children in Sunday School. The church was generally filled on Sundays, even the balcony where we younger folk sat with our lively children. I was the Junior Sunday School Superintendent and had about 70 of the children in this group. And believe it or not, I taught them to sing new songs. I guess I was braver then. I have a lot of beautiful memories from those days. I really hated to move but life goes on. I have only moved twice since we bought our first home in 1957. We moved to Oakville in 1966 and then to Brookdale in 1986 and I guess they were good moves but they took a lot of adjusting. When we moved from Winona the boys came with us but on our move to Brookdale we left our three boys, their spouses and grandchildren in various parts of Ontario.
I had a call from Autumn House and the day for International Womens Day will be on March 7 this year due to a space problem. I forgot to ask where but Im sure it will be in the papers Community Notes.
The Cumberland County Hospice Palliative Care Society will hold its regular meeting on Feb. 26 in the Cafeteria Boardroom at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre.
