Sicknesses affecting church attendance

Leicester -

It is so nice to see the sun after all the dull weather. When we think of all that Haiti is going through, we are so fortunate.
On Saturday, Elda accompanied Vivian Warwick to Amherst to do some errands and grocery shop, stopping on the way home to have coffee with Helen and Rick Estabrooks, Brookdale. Helen is doing well following surgery in Halifax. After returning home, we were pleased to have Victor and Heather Hunsley, Little River, to visit. He is a miracle and it goes to show that prayers do get answered.
Then, in the afternoon, Bethany and Brianna Warwick, Oxford, came to visit while their parents were shopping in Moncton, N.B. In the evening, Mary Ellen Lusby, Amherst, visited while Ross Lusby, accompanied by John Warwick, went to Oxford where the men participated in the Canadian Firearms Safety Course at the legion. This was a great day for sure.
Several regular worshippers of the Little River Baptist Church were absent due to sickness. Get well wishes to all.
Word has been received of the death of Florence (Elliott) McCullough in Ontario. Florence lived in this area before going to Ontario, where she married and lived for 94 years. She got what she wished - the ability to live in her own home and to die quickly, thus avoiding a nursing home. A memorial service was held on Saturday, Jan. 16.
Cards and letters may be sent to Florence's children at the following address: Grace Lush and Jim McCullough, R.R. 2, Sligo Road, Mount Forest, ON, N0G 2L0.
On Tuesday, Wilfred and Betty Adshade, Riverview, N.B., were supper guests with Douglas and Ruby Kirkpatrick and had a lovely visit.
On Wednesday afternoon, Ruby Kirkpatrick visited with Muriel Dobson and Douglas Kirkpatrick spent the afternoon with Victor Hunsley.
The Happy Neighbors Club is busy doing a book of recopies and memories to be published in May.
Jean Mattinson, Beckwith, returned home from hospital and is doing very well. Keep it up, Jean.
Darrell and Sheila Thompson attended a buffet luncheon at the home of Judy and Ray Gallant, Amherst, on Saturday along with other family members. There were 20-plus attending this family gathering.
The Thompsons visited with son, Greg Thompson and family, Warren, on Saturday evening.
Anyone having news please call 667-8886 and I will be glad to add it. Have a great week.
Be thankful - If you have food in your refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof over your head and a place to sleep, you are richer than 75 per cent of the people in this world. Keep the dear folks of Haiti in your prayers.
