Ohra and Ross Colins were very surprised on Saturday, Oct. 24 when daughter Oralee had a 50th wedding anniversary party for them. There were people from the United States, Calgary, Halifax, Amherst and Prince Edward Island who came to share this event with them.
The Age of Sail museum is having a roast chicken dinner with all the trimmings this Saturday at the FPW Fire Hall. The price of this dinner is $10 and goes from 4 until 5:50 p.m. and everyone is welcome.
All residents of the Shore Drive Community Development Association area are asked to watch their incoming mail around Nov. 12 for the registration forms for the annual "Give yourself a Break" Christmas party and dinner, which is scheduled for Dec. 19-20. Funding for this event is generously provided by Gordie Coates through the Shore Drive Community Development Association. Deadline for registration is Nov. 30.
The 20th anniversary of the Living Christmas Tree concerts will take place on Dec. 12-13 at the Grace United Church in Port Greville. Special guest performers will be participating in this years show to help celebrate the anniversary.
A Remembrance Day service will take place at the Grace United Church, Port Greville, at 2 p.m. After the church service, the traditional wreath ceremony will follow at the war memorial park. Afterwards, the Shore Drive Community Development Association is proudly sponsoring a reception at the FPW Hall for all individuals attending. Anyone wishing to lay a wreath is requested to contact June Wagstaff in Port Greville at 348-2504.
