Emily Gillis and her husband, Bill, of London, Ont., visited with her brother, Harold Nuttall, and his wife, Joyce, last weekend.
Deannie and Steve Yaniki have returned to their home in Toronto after spending the summer at their home here.
Olga Davis and her daughter, Lillian Johns, have returned to their home in Exeter, Ont. after spending the past two weeks visiting relatives and friends here.
The winner of the beautiful handmade wool rug that was donated to the A.D.D.A was Winnie Merriam. Laurie Currie was the lucky winner of $125 for the monthly A.D.D.A. 50/50 Draw. Ina Spicer and David Lake won a free ticket for next month's draw. Congratulations to you all.
Bruce Morris was the lucky winner of the barbecue from the Advocate Fire Department. Congratulations to you too!
The last Downshore Market of the season will be Saturday, Oct. 10. A Christmas market at the log building will take place on Saturday, Dec. 12 from 9 a.m. to noon.
Badminton is starting again for the season on Monday and Thursday evenings at 6:30 p.m. at the Advocate school. Everyone is welcome to participate..
On Saturday, Oct. 10 I will be doing a family movie night upstairs at the log building at 6 p.m. The movie will be Wall-E. This is being sponsored by the Cumberland Regional Library. Cost is $2.
On Saturday, Oct. 17, a flea market and bake sale will be held at the Advocate school.
The next community luncheon will be on Tuesday, Oct. 20 at noon at the log building in Advocate. Casseroles and dessert are on the menu.
The Firemen's Ladies Auxiliary will be holding a prize Bingo on Tuesday, Oct. 20 at the fire hall at 7 p.m.
