Resident Marion Park celebrated her birthday. Her daughter Vivian and her son John took her out for a dinner of Chinese food. Birthday cake was enjoyed, and Marion received lovely cards and gifts.
Congratulations to Holly Cameron from Maccan, who graduated with her BN and RN from the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton on May 28. Holly received her results on July 15, and is and will be working as a RN here at Gables.
A graduation party was held in Fredericton, with all of her immediate family from Maccan attending. She is the granddaughter of Reg Dwyer of Maccan and Bill Cameron of Amherst. We are very happy to have her as one of our RNs here at Gables.
The sad news of Gregg LeBlanc's accident was the main topic here, with all having much concern for him and is wife Sonia, who is one of our nurses here.
As I write, I hear he has a long road ahead.
Our thoughts and prayers are with him as he continues in therapy. Gregg, as a young boy has been one of my favourite people, when neighbours to Hank and Ruth.
Gregg is a branch off a very fine tree, being the grandson of the late Thomas and Alice LeBlanc. Alice I got to know and admire as she walked in church beautifully dressed and wore hats of many kinds. She mothered 12 children and experienced much sadness before she passed away.
Today, the only remaining family members are twins Robert and Doris Kay Pugsley, Henry, Dorilla Dunlap and Mary Comeau.
Condolences go out to the family of the late Mildred Tower, a very well known lady, and volunteer.
Springhill lost another fine citizen, Muriel "Rye" Doyle. Condolences go to her family, sister and very many friends.
