TOPS gains members, loses pounds

Tidnish - For those who have faith in the prediction of the groundhog we are in for six more weeks of winter. I am sure we will have a few more storms before warmer weather arrives.

Gary and Brenda VanSnick have returned home from Florida after a two week break from our cold weather.

We had a new addition to our community. On Jan. 22, Tyler Jesse Leblanc made his entrance, weighting 9 lbs. 5 oz. Proud first time parents are Nadine and Roger of Tidnish Head Road. Congratulations and enjoy all the days ahead.

We had three new members join T.O.P.S again last week, which shows that folks are interested in losing weight and being healthy.

Since March 13, 2008 we have lost over 300 pounds and are still losing. If you are interested in joining us, we meet on every Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the Tidnish Community Center.

Dart results for Jan. 24 - First: Audrey Lewis and Aubrey Jones, Second: Judy Tuttle and Garnet MacGlashen, Third: Corrine Miller and Doug Rector, High Ladies: Audrey Lewis 114, High Men`s: Ed Boyd 111, Booby Prize: Susie Dummy and Russell Finley.

Results for Jan. 31 - First: Corrine Miller and Aubrey Jones, Second: Audrey Lewis and Scott Miller, Third: Debby Chapman and Garnet MacGlashen, High Ladies: Debby Chapman 98, High Mens: Neil Chapman, Booby Prize: Rose Cossman and Piercy Haynes. Next darts will be on Feb. 7 at 7 p.m.

Garnet MacGlashens son Jay won the fantasy pool put on by Hockey Night In Canada Part 1 and won a KIA SUV.
