Local couple attends family reunion in Wards Brook
Last Sunday, Tammy and Steven Benjamin and children, Eric and Lisa from Antigonish visited with Alta and Murray Fife. Altas brother, Aubrey Benjamin of Halifax was a recent overnight guest. On Wednesday, Patsy Hughes, Parrsboro and Barb Benjamin, Fox River visited.
Recent visitors with me were son, Lyle and wife Betty, Nappan; Queen and Harold Adams, Dartmouth. On Saturday I accompanied Lyle and Betty to Summerside, PEI where we visited with my granddaughter, Marney LeBlanc and husband, Mark who were celebrating their anniversary of 11 years together.
Belated anniversary greetings to Jeannette and Joe Lunn who celebrated their 60th on Sept. 1 with family members and best wishes to Joyce and George Collins, Southampton whose anniversary was on the same date.
I would like to say hello to their daughter-in-law Nancy Collins of Springhill, our prayers are with you during your illness.
On Tuesday, Barb Trask and daughter Jamie Orr, Parrsboro visited with Linda and Alan Lake.
All the students are back to school for another year. Jessica Wheaton has returned to St. Marys University for her third year in Halifax.
Michael and Lesia Gilbert and son Donavon, from Ottawa visited with his grandparents, Mary and Cedric Gilbert for a few days recently. Other family members home this past week were: son, Jeffrey, wife Joan, their son Jonny, their daughter Jennifer and their grandson Patrick, Ottawa; also Mary and Cedrics son Brian and wife Celeste and family, Lower Sackville, joined the family.
Home to help Justine and Russell Fife, during the blueberry season were sons: Sam and his son, Andrew, Moncton; Darrel and friend, Bobbie and their son, Liam, Fredericton.
On Wednesday, Else and Ronny Brayley, Springhill visited with me.
My neighbours, Alta and Murray Fife attended a family reunion with Altas four sisters and three brothers on Sept. 6, held at the home of her sister, Hilda Tibbetts and husband Wayne, Wards Brook.
Home to celebrate and enjoy a potluck supper were Altas sisters and brothers Brenda Bowden and husband Wyman, Fox River; Carolyn MacDonald and husband Archie, Sydney; Beverley MacLeod and son Thomas, Sydney; Holly Benjamin and wife Doris of Parrsboro; Aubrey Benjamin and wife Shirley of Halifax; Elson Benjamin and friend Fran, Kentville. The three brothers and Murray were all celebrating their birthdays together.
Memorial donations made to our New Canaan Cemetery Fund were from Olive Tays of Shubenacadie in memory of her parents Annie and Carl Quinn; from Emily Gallagher of Mapleton and from Marlene and Wayne Millard, Lynn Road, who gave in loving memory of Ann Fife and daughters Donna and Marilyn. Thank you.
Deepest sympathy goes to Lawrence Fife in the passing of his daughter Donna Matheson recently.
