SPRINGHILL The Springhill Fire Hall was filled with family and friends of Sylvia Ruddick from Dartmouth to help her celebrate her 60th birthday on March 31 .
Sylvia is one of the famous family of the late Maurice Ruddick, and wife Norma who resides on the Herrett Road. It was a great evening of music, a chance to hear this singing family in solos and as a group from 2 to 5 p.m.
A buffet lunch was served of sandwiches, trays of meat, cheese, vegetables, beverages and birthday cake made by sister Leah Killen. (Leah has more talents than her singing voice.) Sylvia had one daughter Cynthia, who was present, and daughter Angie, son Jamie resides in U.S.A., and another daughter Lisa is overseas. Sylvia received flowers, monetary gifts, and many cards, and she thanked all for these as well as thanking her many friends coming Halifax, Dartmouth, Prince Edward Island, and New Brunswick. We wish you many years ahead in your singing career, Sylvia. Springhill is proud of your singing Ruddick Family.
On April 2, Scott McNairn of River Hebert had a birthday which on Saturday he celebrated at the home of his parents Jim and Myrna McNairn of Amherst and his sister Anne and her husband Mike (Sam) Ritter from Halifax. A supper of Chinese food and beverages was enjoyed with birthday cake made by his mom. Belated greetings, Scott.
I hope everyone enjoys a Happy Easter.
