Gusting winds are creating reduced visibilities on Saskatchewan highways today.
Gusting winds of up to 70 kilometres per hour are resulting in zero visibilities on some Southern Saskatchewan highways.
The Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure Highway Hotline placed Highway #4 from Val Marie to Cadillac under a Travel Not Recommended advisory during the afternoon because of zero visibility and snow drifts.
Earlier this afternoon, the Moose Jaw RCMP were on the scene of an accident on the TransCanada Highway between Mortlach and Chaplin, and were reporting zero visibilities at times due to blowing snow and gusting winds. The conditions are combining to create hazardous driving conditions.
The RCMP are advising motorists to use extreme caution when driving this afternoon, and it at all possible to delay travel plans until weather and road conditions improve.
