Look Good Feel Better Workshop set for Oct. 24

Submitted

The Cypress Health Region is pleased to announce the upcoming Look Good Feel Better workshop. The workshop will be taking place at the Cypress Regional Hospital in Swift Current on Oct. 24 at 1:30 p.m.

Look Good Feel Better workshops are offered across Canada with the support of the Canadian Cosmetic, Toiletry, and Fragrance Association. The Look Good Feel Better program was created from the belief that if a woman with cancer can be provided with information that helps her to look good, chances are that she will feel better, have lifted spirits, and be empowered to face her experience with cancer with greater confidence.

Offered in over 100 hospital and cancer care facilities across the country, these workshops for women are led by industry-trained cosmetic advisors and hair alternatives specialists who generously donate their time and expertise. The workshops are strictly brand-neutral – no brands, products, salons or services are endorsed – and they do not interfere with medical treatments. In fact, many health care providers believe that the positive outlook gained by many participants can play a tremendous role in the overall medical care and treatment.

In this two hour workshop, participants feel empowered and ready to reclaim their sense of self and well-being. They also learn that they are not alone on their cancer journey.

The Cypress Health Region has had more than 100 participants in the Look Good Feel Better workshops over the past 10 years.

This Look Good Feel Better workshop is open to all women living with cancer in the Cypress Health Region and is completely free of charge. Refreshments are provided by the local unit of the Canadian Cancer Society. To register, please contact Sandra at 306-778-9518.
