Laurie Anthony Arsenault, 53, of 782 Southampton Rd., Amherst Point, was given a conditional sentence after pleading guilty in February to one count of production of marijuana.
Arsenault's conditional sentence is for 16 months, and any items seized at the time of his arrest have been forfeited.
He also entered a guilty plea in February to one count of careless storage of a firearm and was given a fine of $250, or five days in custody, to be paid by Sept. 22, 2010.
He was also given a two-year firearms prohibition and the items seized have been forfeited.
The incidents occurred Aug. 14, 2009, in Amherst Point.

Millett gets conditional sentence, probation
Clayton William Millett, 22, of 2326 Lake Rd., Tatamagouche, was given a conditional sentenced for 60 days after pleading guilty in February to one count each of failing the breathalyser, operating a motor vehicle while disqualified from doing so and failing to comply with a probation order.
Millett's conditional sentence is to be followed by 12 months probation with reporting and conditions.
He was given the same sentence for each count, concurrent to each other.
The incidents occurred Aug. 16, 2009, in Pugwash.

France sentenced to custody
Matthew Walter France, 26, of 368 North Greenville Rd., Westchester, was sentenced to a total of 120 days in custody after changing his plea to three criminal charges.
France changed his plea to guilty to one count each of assault with a weapon (a Chevrolet Blazer), mischief or property damage, and refusing the breathalyser.
France was sentenced to 120 days in custody for the breathalyser charge, and was given a two-year driving prohibition. He can apply for the ignition interlock device program after nine months if he so chooses.
France was sentenced to 30 days custody for each of the other charges, concurrent to one another and the other sentence imposed.
Each of the three sentences includes a $50 victim fine surcharge, to be paid by March 16, 2011.
All three custodial sentences will be followed by 12 months probation with conditions, concurrent to each other.
The incidents occurred Oct. 31, 2009, in Westchester.

Duo evicted for drug charges to return for plea
A mother and son combination evicted from their apartment earlier this year on drug charges will wait until next month to enter a plea.
The pair was evicted from their home on Charles Street in January under the Safer Communities and Neighbourhoods Act, and now each face a charge of possession of cannabis resin, possession of cannabis marijuana and trafficking marijuana.
The mother has a lawyer through Nova Scotia Legal Aid, and the son has a certificate for a lawyer, also through Legal Aid.
They will return for election and plea on April 19, 2010, at 9:30 a.m.

McFadden to return for sentencing
Frederick Arthur McFadden, 39, of 9 Woodlawn Dr., Amherst, will return for sentencing in June after changing his plea to guilty to one count each of assault and mischief.
The assault charge was a lesser included offence of an original count of assault with a weapon.
McFadden will return for a pre-sentence report and sentencing on June 14, 2010, at 1:30 p.m.
The incidents occurred Aug. 31, 2009, in Parrsboro.
His recognizance has been continued.
