Canadian Forces assist in major cocaine, marijuana drug bust

AMHERST - Members of the Cumberland Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit with the assistance of the Canadian Forces National Investigation Service arrested a 36-year-old New Brunswick man on Monday in Amherst under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

A search warrant was prepared and executed on the person's vehicle and a large quantity of individually packaged marihuana and cocaine was seized.

The exstimated street value of the drugs was pegged at over $100,000. Also seized from the vehicle was more than $8,000 in cash.

The arrested male was to appear in Provincial Court on March 30, to enter a plea on charges of Trafficking in cocaine and cannabis marijuana.
