RCMP officer seriously injured after accident in New Brunswick

MONCTON, N.B. - A member of the RCMP in New Brunswick was listed in serious condition in hospital after a weekend accident on the Acadian Peninsula.
RCMP say an officer was responding to a hit and run in Losier Settlement shortly after midnight on Sunday when he lost control of his police cruiser and skidded on a slippery road.
The cruiser collided with a telephone pole.
Police say the 28-year-old officer suffered serious head injuries and was being treated at the Moncton Hospital's trauma unit.
RCMP say the accident is under investigation.
