SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. - A woman in Prince Edward Island has been sentenced to nine months in jail for her part in an attack on her drug dealer.
Court heard that 41-year-old Lynn Anne Byrne of Wilmot Valley and 22-year-old Erica Diane ResRoches went to the man's home on Nov. 4, 2008, and attacked him.
DesRoches was sentenced last April to five years in prison for using a hammer in the attack on the man, who was described in court as a drug dealer.
In P.E.I. Supreme Court today, the Crown said there was no proof that Byrne, who pleaded guilty to aggravated assault, used the hammer on the man and she had no criminal record.
Justice John Mitchell agreed with a joint sentencing recommendation of nine months in jail and three years' probation.
