Conditional discharge for threatening to cause bodily harm
TRURO - A Truro man who threatened to cause a woman bodily harm was handed a conditional discharge this week in provincial court.
Zachary Lee Aubichon, 18, of 110 Dominion St., was placed on eight months probation after also pleading guilty to causing mischief by damaging a window.
He was ordered to pay restitution of $484 and must successfully take counselling for drug abuse and be assessed for alcohol abuse.
Aubichon was also ordered to perform 10 hours of community service.

Enfield man fined for possessing cocaine, marijuana
TRURO - An Enfield man who pled guilty to possessing both cocaine and marijuana was fined a total of $747.50.
Timothy Scott Barrett, 27, of 311, Highway 2 was fined $460 on the cocaine charge and $287.50 for the marijuana possession.

Failing the breathalyser results in $1,000 fine
TRURO - A conviction for failing the breathalyser netted a Valley man a $1,000 fine and nine months probation in provincial court this week.
Christopher George Cook, 19, of 9 Windcrest Lane, also lost his driving privileges for one year and was ordered to take counselling for substance abuse.

Fishing salmon out of season nets Brookfield man a fine
TRURO - A Brookfield man convicted of fishing salmon out of season was fined $207 on Wednesday in provincial court.
Robert Duncan Cooke, 55, of 664 Highway 2, was charged with fishing in the Stewiacke River last April.

Truro man placed on probation after pleading guilty to assault
TRURO - A Truro man who pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman was handed a suspended sentence and placed on eight months probation.
During that period he is to abstain from possessing or consuming alcohol or illicit drugs, stay away from establishments where alcohol is sold as a primary source of business (except for employment purposes) and take counselling as directed regarding alcohol consumption.

Six months probation for moving ammunition in careless manner
TRURO - A West North River man who pled guilty to transporting ammunition (shotgun shells) in a careless manner was granted a conditional discharge this week in provincial court.
Tanner Messervey, 18, of 87 Branch Rd., was also placed on six months probation.
