CALGARY - Calgary Police say foster children across Canada are being questioned after a foster father was charged with sex offences involving three boys in his care.
Officers say they began their investigation last June after being told of allegations about a man involved in sex acts with boys under 18-years-old.
Police allege that the foster father was offering the boys money in exchange for sex acts.
They say the charges relate to encounters that happened between January 2006 and April 2008.
Police are interviewing 55 foster children across Canada who were cared for by the suspect and his family over the past 20 years.
Garry Prokopishin, 51, is charged with one count of luring a child via a data device, three counts of obtaining or attempting to obtain sex from a person under 18, and sexual contact with a youth by a person in authority.
