ST. JOHN'S, N.L. - A man found guilty of touching a 13-year-old girl for a sexual purpose will be sentenced in a St. John's, N.L., courtroom on Feb. 22.
Grant Tapper was convicted of the charge last month following an incident in Torbay, N.L., in the summer of 2008.
The 24-year-old had originally been charged with sexual assault in connection with the same incident.
The Crown is recommending a prison term between 12 and 18 months.
However, Tapper's lawyer, Jeff Brace, has said four- to six-month conditional sentences have been given in similar cases.
Tapper is already serving time in prison for other offences.
