Possession of stolen wallet results in jail time
TRURO - A man convicted of possessing a stolen wallet was sentenced to 60 days in jail.
Earl Gratto, 34, of no fixed address, was also placed on probation for 12 months after also pleading guilty to breaching his previous probation terms.
Charges of stealing the wallet, theft of a Visa card and possession of the drug Hydromorphone were withdrawn.
While on probation, Gratto is banned from possessing or consuming alcohol and from entering drinking establishments and must successfully complete counselling for alcohol and drug use.

Conditional sentence for Truro man convicted of assault
TRURO - A Truro man convicted of assault has been handed an eight month conditional
sentence.
Kelly Bruce Poulin, 42, of 24 Cottage St., must serve the first four months of his sentence under house arrest. For the final four months, he will be subject to a 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. curfew.
Poulin was also convicted of several counts of breaching probation and of mischief by causing damage to a Truro jail cell.
He was ordered to pay restituion of $60.62 for the cell damage and must take counselling for alcohol consumption, anger management and domestic violence.
He must also refrain from consuming alcohol and illicit drugs and must stay away from drinking establishments.
Poulin was further placed under a weapons ban and must submit a DNA sample.
