ST. JOHN'S, N.L. - It's not clear if there will be any disciplinary action following a shooting incident inside Royal Newfoundland Constabulary headquarters.
A spokeswoman says an internal review has concluded the single round was accidentally discharged during an unloading procedure on Saturday night.
Const. Lynn Downton says the shot hit the floor and embedded in a wall.
There were no injuries.
Police issued a release today saying the loading and unloading of firearms, as well as live fire training exercises, occur every day within RNC headquarters.
