MONTREAL - The family of a Canadian United Nations worker in Haiti confirmed her death on an Internet site Tuesday.
Marie-Dominique Bedard said the body of her daughter Alexandra Duguay was found around midnight.
Bedard wrote on a Facebook support page that it appears Duguay died when the earthquake struck last week.
Thirteen Canadians have been officially reported dead by the federal government.
Duguay was a communications officer working with the UN in Port-au-Prince.
A spokeswoman for the United Nations did not not confirm or deny the death when contacted in New York.
When contacted, the federal government said it would not release names out of respect for families - but officials pointed out that the death toll had been updated Tuesday.
