CLARENVILLE, N.L. - Craig Blundon has been committed to trial on a charge of murdering another man in Newfoundland's Bonavista Bay area last year.
Judge Robert Kennedy made his decision Tuesday following a preliminary in provincial court in Clarenville.
Blundon, 18, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Francis Ayles, who was reported missing on Dec. 2, 2008.
Searchers found Ayles's body almost a month later beneath a pile of boughs in the woods behind Brooklyn.
He died from a single shotgun blast.
Blundon has been remanded until his trial at an undecided date in Newfoundland and Labrador Supreme Court in Grand Bank.
Police say Blundon and Ayles were friends who went hunting together the day Ayles went missing.
