TRURO - Let the floodgates open.

Cumberland Colchester Musquodoboit Valley M.P. Scott Armstrong is coming back to town Friday to make two federal funding announcements, one in Colchester County and another in Amherst.

"I think there's going to be several announcements made in a fairly quick pace here," the newly minted Member of Parliament Scott Armstrong said Wednesday after being sworn in. "One of the roles as an MP is to represent the riding in Ottawa and try to help push projects that have come from the communities.

During the federal byelection campaign, Armstrong mentioned two major projects for the region were the civic centre for Colchester County and the damaged seawall in Advocate. Don't expect those projects to be announced this week.

"These are smaller ones," Armstrong said.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper called the byelection on Oct. 4, effectively shelving projects from being announced.

The federal government does not make funding announcements during election campaigns. And it is likely they would not make commitments in the weeks prior to a potential election call, for fear of people suggesting they are trying to buy votes.

"Because of the writ there were several that were held up," Armstrong admitted. "So you'll probably see numerous announcements in the next couple of months."

Good news this riding, finally it looks like we are getting some well needed projects coming real soon.
Hopefully some funding will be made for
the provincial project promised to fix
and/or replace the Northport bridge. The
news should bring many jobs to this area.

Most likely C-Vision will be getting more seed money since they just laid off the employees they brought back a month ago! Seems they always get millions as soon as layoffs are announced!
