Crossman changes plea to guilty
Harold Crossman, 82, of 39 Hickman St., Amherst, was given a conditional discharge following probation after changing his plea to guilty to one count of assault.
The three-month probationary sentence includes conditions.
The incident occurred May 15, 2009, in Amherst.
Gero given suspended sentence for drug charges
Alonzo Eric Gero, 44, of 249 Church St., Amherst, was given a suspended sentence of probation for nine months after pleading guilty in September to one count each of possession of cocaine and possession of marijuana.
Gero was given the same sentence with conditions on each count, concurrent to one another.
He was also given a $50 victim fine surcharge for each count, payable by Dec. 29, 2009.
The incidents occurred March 17, 2009, in Amherst.
Webb to return for sentencing
Jeffrey Allan David Webb, 45, of 1691 Webb Rd., Westchester Station, will return for sentencing in December after pleading guilty to two charges.
Webb entered guilty pleas to one count each of failing to comply with a probation order and failing to attend court.
His defence counsel has requested a pre-sentence report.
Webb will return for the pre-sentence report and sentencing on Dec. 14, 2009, at 1:30 p.m.
The incidents occurred between Feb. 19 and April 20, 2009, in Amherst, and Sept. 14, 2009, in Amherst, respectively.
He was released on a recognizance with conditions.
Rushton found guilty of impaired driving
Gregory Mason Rushton, 45, of 176 Norm Green Trail, Port Howe, was fined a total of $1,150 after being found guilty of one count of impaired driving.
He was given a $1,000 fine and $150 surcharge, or 16 days in custody, payable by Oct. 27, 2010.
He was also given a 12-month driving prohibition and can apply for the ignition interlock device program after three months if he so chooses.
Rushton also changed his plea to guilty to one count of illegally possessing liquor under the Liquor Control Act.
He was given a $300 fine and $107 cost, or six consecutive days in custody, to be paid by Oct. 27, 2010.
Both incidents occurred Dec. 30, 2008, in Shinimicas.
Joostema found guilty of assault, probation breach
Shawn Joostema, 35, of 9 Spring St., Amherst, was given a suspended sentence of probation after being found guilty of one count each of assaulting Geraldine Legere and failing to comply with a probation order.
Joostema's nine-month probation order comes with conditions.
He was given the same sentence for each count, concurrent to one another.
Each sentence also includes a $50 victim fine surcharge, to be paid by April 28, 2010.
The incidents occurred April 8, 2009, in Amherst.
Collings pleads guilty to assault charges
Richard James Collings, 26, of 6 ½ Belliveau Ave., Amherst, was given a suspended sentence of probation after pleading guilty to two counts of assault.
Collings was given the same 15-month sentence with conditions for each count, concurrent to one another.
A DNA sample order was also granted.
The incidents occurred Sept. 7, 2009, and Aug. 24, 2009, in Amherst.
Hiesberger to return for sentencing
Johannes Hiesberger, 38, of 2358 Western Ave., Parrsboro, will return for sentencing next month after pleading guilty to one count of distributing child pornography.
Hiesberger's sentencing was adjourned at the request of his defence counsel to Nov. 16, 2009, at 9:30 a.m.
The incident occurred between April 22 and 23, 2009, in Parrsboro.
His undertaking has been continued.
