Preliminary hearing date set for N.L. man accused of murdering estranged wife

ST. JOHN'S, N.L. - A date has been set for a preliminary hearing for a Newfoundland man charged with the murder of his estranged wife.
The hearing for Raymond Gerald Newman, 31, begins Feb. 2 - almost two weeks after the third anniversary of the woman's death.
The bloody body of Chrissy Predham-Newman, 28, was found in her St. John's, N.L., apartment on Jan. 21, 2007.
She had been stabbed several times and had her throat slit.
Newman is charged with second-degree murder.
