AMHERST - All was quiet on All Hallow's Eve throughout Amherst.
Sgt. Robert MacPherson of the Amherst Police Department said Halloween has been pretty tame locally as of late.
"There doesn't seem to be as much malicious Halloween mischief as in previous years," MacPherson said.
According to MacPherson, there was lots of activity throughout the town with little trick-or-treaters, but other than one incident that could be attributed to it being Halloween, it was just a run-of-the-mill weekend.
Officers responded to 29 calls for service over the weekend.
There was one property damage incident that was associated with Halloween mischief. The other calls for assistance included nine disturbance matters, four requests to assist the public, three false 911 calls, three motor vehicle complaints and one suspicious incident.
Police also responded to and continue to investigate four complaints of assault, three allegations of property damage and one break and enter into an apartment.

Does anyone know why the power went out overnight?

    Good question.
I'm sure we weren't the only ones to reset the clocks before bed and do it again the next morning.
    What a pita.
