Boy, 13, faces charges in P.E.I. after would-be robber confronts cabbie

CHARLOTTETOWN A 13-year-old boy facing charges in the attempted robbery of a Charlottetown cab driver was brought before a justice of the peace today.

The youth from Mill Cove, P.E.I., is accused of attempted robbery, theft, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and breach of probation.

Hes been remanded until Feb. 3 for an appearance in youth court.

Police say someone tried to rob the taxi driver at knifepoint after being picked up Monday at the Charlottetown Mall.

The driver pulled over to the side of the road, shut off his engine, removed the key from the ignition and walked away.
