Two P.E.I. corrections officers accused of assault in bar fight

CHARLOTTETOWN Two corrections officers have been charged with assault causing bodily harm in connection with a fight at a Charlottetown bar last year.

Nathan Daniel Praught, 23, of Hunter River, P.E.I., and Michael Andrew Irwin, 29, of Stratford, P.E.I., were charged today.

They work at the Sleepy Hollow provincial jail outside Charlottetown.

P.E.I. businessman Alan MacPhee says he dancing at the bar with two female friends on Dec. 13 when he was jumped.

He suffered injuries to one eye and was taken to hospital.

Praught and Irwin will appear in provincial court in Charlottetown on Feb. 19.
