SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. The daughter of the P.E.I. Green Party Leader Sharon Labchuk has been disqualified from taking part in the CBC show Canadas Next Great Prime Minister.

Camille Labchuk says the network wont allow her to compete because she ran for political office in 2006 as a Green candidate in New Brunswick.

But Labchuk says CBC staff approached her to try out for the show.

She says she told them about her political campaign but was assured it wasnt a problem.

The winner gets $50,000 in money and other prizes.

The CBC has apologized to Labchuk and admits a producer made an error.
