TRURO, N.S. Off-duty police officers from Truro, N.S., will not be charged for their involvement in a disturbance outside a downtown bar in early October.

TRURO, N.S. Off-duty police officers from Truro, N.S., will not be charged for their involvement in a disturbance outside a downtown bar in early October.

Truro police Chief David MacNeil says Halifax Regional Police found no evidence for charges against the local cops after conducting a criminal investigation.

MacNeil had requested the external police investigation.

The incident happened around 1:40 a.m. on Oct. 3 outside the Warehouse Bars and involved five civilians and five off-duty Truro police officers.

Three people have been charged in the incident.

A Police Act investigation is also underway and is being conducted by Bridgewater Chief Brent Crowhurst.
