SYDNEY, N.S. Five people have been arrested following the seizure in Sydney of eight kilograms of marijuana and $77,000 in cash.

Staff Sgt. Paul Jobe of Cape Breton Regional Police says only two people have been charged so far but charges are expected against the others.

Franklin Anthony Barter, 33, and Andrew Patrick Evans, 22, both of Sydney, will appear in court Wednesday.

They are facing charges of possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking and conspiring to commit an indictable offence.

The seizure took place Monday.

Jobe says the two men were already on house arrest when they were arrested.
