ST. JOHNS, N.L. A man accused of luring a 13-year-old girl into the woods and sexually assaulting her will have his case heard before judge and jury at Newfoundland Supreme Court.

ST. JOHNS, N.L. A man accused of luring a 13-year-old girl into the woods and sexually assaulting her will have his case heard before judge and jury at Newfoundland Supreme Court.

Grant Tapper, 23, appeared in provincial court in St. Johns on Wednesday and a preliminary hearing has been set for Feb. 27.

Tapper is charged with sexual assault and sexual interference after an alleged incident near a grocery store in Torbay, N.L., on July 26.

Tapper also faces several charges stemming from a car accident June 22 in Flatrock, N.L., where a man and a woman were injured.

Hes charged with impaired driving causing bodily harm, refusing to provide a blood sample, several breaches of court orders, as well as dangerous driving causing bodily harm.

He has elected trial by judge and jury for those charges and the preliminary inquiry has been scheduled for March 16-17.
