The Green Party of Nova Scotia is poised to launch a legal challenge to a provision of Bill 117, a recent piece of provincial legislation that turns the funding of political parties in Nova Scotia to a more public-centred approach.

The party, which ran a full slate of candidates in the 2006 provincial general election, has delivered a letter threatening legal action to the Attorney General of Nova Scotia, claiming the bill grants a disproportionate share of public money to the three largest parties in the province, to the exclusion of the Green Party.
