MALAGASH - Jost Vineyard hosted the Malagash blueberry festival on Saturday.

“Once a month Jost Vineyard hosts an event. This month’s event is trying to promote local blueberries. We use local blueberries for some of our products here,” said employee Laura Patriquin.

Jost sells other products including Sangria and jelly.

“Not just wine,” added Patriquin.

Employee Anna Johnson said, “This is part of the Cumberland blueberry festival circuit. We are expecting around 200 persons to show up today. We are lucky it is such a nice day.”

Local Paul Silverio has been to the event many times. “I love coming to these events. I have been to about ten. I go to the grape stomp every year as well. There is always great music and this event is so close. I buy my wine here. I will absolutely be back for the next event.”

Danny Joseph attends every festival at Jost.

“My favorite is the one they had last month. The songwriter’s circle. It is so laid back at these events. They have changed the layout so much since the new owner’s took over. It’s more upscale.”

Dorothy Cousin’s is a Malagash local, and said she has been to Jost events many times.

“It is great for the local area. I really liked the songwriter’s circle last month, they brought out many new and uprising stars. I always enjoy the atmosphere here and feel very welcomed. My favorite wine is the white wine called Selkie.”

Jost’s was also giving tours of the vineyard, wine tasting and had live music from Alycia Putnam and Family, and special guest Zach Smith. It was a beautiful sunny Saturday full of wine and music.
