HALIFAX - Police have arrested a minor in connection with a stabbing on Barrington Street earlier in the week.

Officers responded to reports of a stabbing in the 2100 block of Barrington, just north of the Cogswell Interchange, just before 7 p.m. Tuesday. When police arrived, the suspect had fled on foot. A 38-year-old man remains in hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A release from Halifax Regional Police on Wednesday states that investigators have arrested a 17-year-old Halifax boy who is scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court this afternoon.

The boy is facing a charge of attempted murder and two counts of breaching probation.

The release states that the suspect and victim know one another, and the stabbing was the result of an “altercation” between the two.
